Spirit of St. Nicholas Collection: St. Nicholas is known as the partron saint of children and for doing many kind and generous deeds in secret. Catholic Charities is looking for donations of personal care items to help out folks who use St. Joseph Emergency Family Shelter, St. Mary Family Center and refugees who have resettled in the Des Moines area. Catholic Charities will host No Room at the Inn the weekend of November 30-December 2 to help raise awareness about the realities of poverty and homelessness in Iowa. On Saturday, December 1st there is a poverty simulation from 9 am - noon. This is a great opportunity to experience what it is like for our neighbors who live in poverty.
